Dr. Tim Lewis is a consultant, speaker, life-long learner, and founder of TLL Advisory Services. He is an expert in strategy and business development, strategic partnerships, diversity and inclusion, and people development to achieve organizational success. He has more than a decade of diverse experiences such as a college basketball coach, athlete, NCAA administrator, health care administrator, adjunct professor, and business owner.
In a previous life, Tim worked at the NCAA as an associate director of engagement and strategic partnerships. In that role, he cultivated relationships with sports stakeholders to drive partnerships and strategies that resulted in high-profile athletes being academically eligible to go to college to participate in college athletics and receive wonderful education benefits.
While at the NCAA, Tim was named Co-Chair of the People of Color employee resource group. He also collaborated with the office of inclusion on joint projects to help achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion goals for internal and external constituents.
Before the NCAA, Tim spent four and a half years as a strategic planner and business developer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In this role, Tim aided in creating a global strategic plan for the health system that encompassed education, finance, and clinical and non-clinical operations.
Tim is a frequent speaker and facilitator to executives on topics such as business strategy, inclusion, leadership, and culture. He has moderated panels with executives and politicians and has been a guest lecturer at numerous universities across the country.
Tim also has nine years of collegiate basketball coaching experience. Tim was a member of the Alabama men’s basketball staff from 2006-2007. He also coached at Shelton State Community College from 2008-2015. He has coached over 25+ All-Conference, 10+ All American, and 10 professional athletes.
Tim received his BS from Jacksonville State University, MS and MBA from The University of Alabama, and his Ed.D from East Tennessee State University.
